Agency is the mental state “I can influence the world.” Full blown Agency consists of efficacy, optimism, and imagination. When cultures have Agency, progress occurs. When they do not, stagnation occurs. I will review Epochs across history to support this. We are in labor at the dawn of an Age of Agency, in which teaching efficacy, optimism, and imagination will be crucial.
