Garima Rajan

Dr. Garima Rajan is Assistant Professor – Psychology at FLAME University. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from IIT Delhi. She holds a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Delhi. Prof. Garima has a total work experience of over seven years. Prior to joining FLAME, she worked as a Teaching Assistant and was associated with IIT Delhi, India, and Mississippi State University, USA. Currently, she is teaching Positive Psychology, Methods of Psychological Testing, and Social Psychology. Her broad area of research interests lies in the domains of psychometrics, positive, and cognitive psychology. Her doctoral research work focused on documenting several psychological, affective, and cognitive benefits of yoga, meditation, and associated positive practices using a mixed-method approach. Her research incorporated qualitative semi-structured interviews, psychological self-report assessments, cognitive tasks, and experimentation, along with the development of a smartphone application PsyEx for the purpose of data collection. She has examined executive functioning and emotion regulation in positive and negative symptom dimensions of schizophrenia for her Master’s thesis and self-conscious emotions and emotion regulation in depression and bipolar affective disorder for her Undergraduate Honours thesis. She has published and presented her research work in national and international journals and at numerous conferences of repute. She is an executive committee member of the National Positive Psychology Association (NPPA) and an active member of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), International Congress of Psychology (ICP), National Academy of Psychology (NAOP), and Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP). Along with her robust research aptitude, she has also demonstrated a strong scholastic orientation during her formal academic training in psychology. She has been a college topper in psychology and secured a second position at the University of Delhi. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, reading, and traveling.
