Traditionally outreach provided by College Counseling centers across the country have been didactic presentations where students come to a designated location to learn “skills”. In more recent years, some universities have intentionally shifted the focus to ways of increasing positive emotions during high stress periods of the semester as well as strengthening the relationship between counselors and the campus community. This presentation will highlight some of these creative outreach approaches as well as fun ideas for group counseling that clearly represent the practice of positive psychology in a University setting.
