The purpose of this program is to explore the promises and pitfalls of values-based living for individuals and organizations. The central importance of values-centered living and leadership has widely been espoused. While much is lauded about values and purpose-driven leadership, there has been little discussion of how values work can negatively impact productivity, fulfillment, and resilience. The program stems from an empirically-derived values assessment process and a university flourishing program (Crace & Crace, 2020). The session will describe a paradigm shift of values clarification, expression and management. Participants will learn a process of values discussion and exploration that helps clients avoid the traps of values-centered living and that fosters flourishing. Participants will have access to an online open educational resource so that they can continue deepening their integration of these applied strategies into their own values work with individuals and organizations (Crace, 2012).
