In light of demographic trends and worldwide treats, building and maintaining wellbeing is crucial for the economy, the community, and for life success of future generations. To sustainably facilitate and build wellbeing, thorough understanding of its underlying dynamics with respect to genetic sensitivity and environmental exposure is essential. Meike Bartels and her team have been working on disentangling the genetic and environmental influences and their fascinating interplay on wellbeing. In this presentation she will give an update of the genetic studies and will present the results of an exposome-wide assocation analysis. She furthermore will give an overview and examples of genetically informative designs (such as intergenerational transmission studies, direction of causation studies, genetic nurture, and polygenic scores) and multi-omics approaches that will help to get a better understanding of how to achieve wellbeing for all, while we are all different.
