Petra Walker
Petra Walker MBPsS, is a vibrant and engaging Coaching Psychologist based in Dubai, UAE. She is passionate about empowering others to achieve their best life. She originally studied Zoology at Oxford University, graduating with MA(Oxon), but now studies people, gaining MSc Psychology in 2010 and recently graduating from the University of East London with Distinction in her Masters of Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP).
Her Masters dissertation was supervised by the Post Traumatic Growth Unit of UEL, and is a qualitative study of the experiences of scuba diving in ex-forces personnel who have suffered life-altering trauma. She is keen to continue researching the wellbeing aspects of blue space physical activity.
In addition to research, she is also a writer, contributing a chapter to a Positive Psychology book due for publication January 2021. She also coaches on Leadership courses at INSEAD Business School and works with private clients worldwide. A passionate scuba diver, sailor and gardener, in Dubai she has been involved with Ministry of Happiness initiatives, running speed-coaching sessions at the 2018 Festival of Happiness and a 2019 mental health pilot project. She volunteers for Safe Space Dubai and has also appeared on ‘The Business Breakfast’ radio programme on more than one occasion.
