Emma Smadbeck
Emma Smadbeck is currently a Clinical Psychology PhD candidate within the Research School of Psychology at the Australian National University (ANU). She is also a registered psychologist (clinical psychology registrar) working in private practice with children and families. Emma has a strong interest in furthering research on school based positive psychology interventions and received first class honours at The University of Adelaide for her research evaluating the impact of random acts of kindness and three good things interventions on adolescent wellbeing and academic achievement. Her current PhD expands on this research. As part of her PhD she is looking by looking at the important factors for adolescent wellbeing including evaluating the difference between individual and group factors. She is also evaluating individual positive psychology interventions within schools to determine which ones are most effective and also determine the mechanism of change for adolescent wellbeing from both an individual and group perspective.
