Jen F Vincent
Jen Vincent teaches at Montcrest School, a co-educational JK-8 independent school in Toronto, Ontario. She has been teaching for 27 years, both in the public and independent systems in Atlantic Canada and Ontario. As an instrumental music teacher at all levels of education, as well as a middle school English, health/guidance, and homeroom teacher, Jen believes in the power of educating students about character strengths and acknowledging how students’ strengths show up and support them across school life, particularly during the Covid pandemic. A member of both the Canadian Positive Psychology Association and the International Positive Psychology Association, Jen studied implementation and application of character strengths with Dr. Ryan Niemec from the VIA Institute on Character. She also completed an intensive coaching course on applied positive psychology with Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener of Positive Acorn Positive Psychology Training for Professionals in Portland, Oregon. For the past two years, Jen has spent much time in professional development studying and implementing The Third Path framework, as researched and written by Canadian authors Dr. David Tranter, Lori Carson, and Tom Boland, which also grounds the work of Montcrest School.
Jen has been invited to speak at international, national, and local conferences, as well as being asked to guest lecture for prospective teachers at the university level.
