Based on relevant research results at home and abroad, this article investigates the current situation of junior high school English teaching from the perspective of positive psychology through investigation methods and classroom observation methods. Including the survey of English teachers, mainly from the three aspects of positive educational concepts and teaching implementation and the English teaching environment; the survey of students, from the aspects of English learning attitude, interest, classroom participation, teacher-student relationship, and English learning environment. Through the investigation of the current situation of English teaching, we analyze the existing problems from the three aspects of teachers, students and teaching environment, and summarize the reasons. In response to the above-mentioned problems, combined with positive psychology, we propose strategies to promote English teaching in junior high schools: one is to give full play to the "positive power" of English teachers; the other is to tap students' positive personality traits and strengthen learning motivation; and the third is to construct positive English teaching. surroundings. Finally, take the application of positive psychology in junior high school English in CH middle school as a case study to prove that the application of positive psychology in junior high school English teaching can promote the development of junior high school English teaching.
