Appreciative inquiry (Cooperrider & Srivastva, 1987) is often described as a circular process known as the 4D model: Discovery (stories about the best of what is), Dream (imagining the best of what could be), Design (statements of intention) and Destiny (action planning). The science of positive psychology and AI focuses on strength development and athlete wellbeing. This can be interesting on 3 aspects : performance and wellbeing on athletes, on coaches and on staff. But how great is the effect ? That was the goal of the study. Few would have imagined at the opening of 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic that has irrevocably transformed economies around the world, infected millions, and will tragically result in unpredictable numbers of horrific deaths. Is the pandemic a stop in measuring the process? We decided to test the process, to adapt it, to improve it on a population of athletes, coaches and staff. Using AI, focus on developing an athlete’s strengths in ways that maximise their potential – both on and off the field, can improve their performance. Sports coaches would identify and develop their athletes’ strengths while learning to overcome their negativity bias by training their brains to see the good things their athletes are doing. Staff can benefit of this wellbeing. The results would show aspects of creativity (Hoque,2014) about the process, how to solve problems about physical distanciation. Is it possible to do AI in pandemic ? That is the work we intend to present .
